• You are at least 13 years of age (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction)
• If you are under 18, you have parental or guardian consent
• You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
• You will comply with all applicable laws and regulations

2. Account Registration

To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information to keep it accurate.

• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
• You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
• We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these Terms

3. Service Description

Verbaq provides an AI-powered language learning platform that includes:

• Interactive AI conversation practice with virtual tutors
• Structured lessons and courses for multiple languages
• Vocabulary building and spaced repetition learning
• Pronunciation practice with speech recognition
• Connection with human language partners and tutors
• Progress tracking and gamification features

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with reasonable notice.

Free and Premium Tiers

Verbaq offers both free and premium subscription tiers. Free users have access to limited features, while premium subscribers enjoy full access to all features.

Billing

• Premium subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis
• Payments are processed securely through Stripe
• Prices are subject to change with 30 days notice
• All fees are non-refundable except as required by law

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing period, and you will retain access until then.

Free Trial

We may offer free trial periods. At the end of the trial, you will be automatically enrolled in a paid subscription unless you cancel before the trial ends.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users or tutors
• Share inappropriate, offensive, or harmful content
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other accounts
• Use automated systems or bots to access the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
• Circumvent any security measures or access restrictions
• Share your account credentials with others
• Create multiple accounts to abuse free trials or promotions

Our Content

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Verbaq and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

Your Content

You retain ownership of content you create (such as conversation messages). By using the Service, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to use, store, and process your content solely for providing and improving the Service.

7. Tutor Marketplace

If you use our tutor matching feature:

• Tutors are independent contractors, not Verbaq employees
• We facilitate connections but do not guarantee tutor quality or availability
• Payments to tutors are processed through our platform
• Both students and tutors must maintain respectful, professional conduct
• We reserve the right to remove tutors or students who violate our guidelines

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND.

• We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
• AI-generated content may contain errors or inaccuracies
• We do not guarantee specific learning outcomes or fluency levels
• Third-party services integrated with Verbaq are subject to their own terms

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, VERBAQ SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

Our total liability for any claims arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service:

• For violation of these Terms
• For fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity
• At our sole discretion with reasonable notice

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting support or through your account settings. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Verbaq is incorporated, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of that jurisdiction.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
